Cgi animations are always created with individual frames. A movie in fact is nothing else but a series of individual frames played back at 24 fps. In the old days the frames were all connected together in the negative.

To create a movie you need a video editor like Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro. The Blender Video Sequence Editor works too. These are called Non Linear Editors, or NLEs. You basically import all the frames generated into a timeline, add titles, effects and sound and then use the NLE to export the timeline to a standard video format like QuickTime or MPEG4.

All the best.

You don't have to rename anything, you will need to take note of the frame number that you interrupted and then start LuxRender manually and add to the queue all the .lxs files for the frames that were not rendered, including the one that you interrupted.

Cheers.

Hi Paolo,

I am rendering a 120-frame animation. I have had to adjust the tone mapping for each frame. I unchecked "auto" at the bottom, thinking maybe that would would save my settings, but for each frame Linear resets itself to Auto Linear. Is there a way to avoid this so I don't have to babysit this render? I'd like to let it go overnight, since this will take days to complete.

Thanks! Smile

Absolutely, just set the camera exposure in the Camera tab and those parameters will be used for each frame.

Cheers.
