Re: Weird results when using Reality/Luxrender

Great guide, Daniel! Interesting that we now have iRay Uber to 3DL converters. These can be very useful for third party products, not supporting iRay Uber shaders. Even found a free script: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/139326/irayto3delight-conversion-script/p1 (haven't had time to test i...

Re: Weird results when using Reality/Luxrender

Hi I'm not familiar with the Grace Young product, but any generation above Genesis 7 will not render correctly out-of-the-box in Reality, because the automatic presets have not been updated for newer versions. This does not mean, that you cannot render the newer DAZ generations, but just that it tak...

Re: Reality is now Open Source Software

Hi Paolo A bit late on this thread, but better late than never :) Just want to say thanks for all your hard work on Reality, and all the best in your new venture. Like many others here I learned a lot about PBR and all the stuff related to creating realistic 3d scenes by working with Reality. Your p...

Re: Render Crash

The " after Stud_16 does not look right. Try to remove it and run the scene again directly from the Luxrender client.

Re: Reality/Luxrender updates and/or status(?)

Yeah, I ran into the Kr problem too, and when using a more advanced scene even more incompatibilities. We are a long way from being able to convert the old scene format to the new at the moment. But then the goal should not be to convert an old deprecated scene definition language, but rather have R...

Re: RUNTIME ERROR: OpenCL device selection string has the wrong length, must be 3 instead of 2

I swear I had network OpenCL rendering working at one point before I updated my drivers. my two machines use an AMD and Nvidia GPU respectively. Hopefully we'll get a reliable workflow in the future. I do animation in Lux and relying on single GPU is far too time consuming. I never heard about anyo...

Re: RTX Performance in Lux

The enormous price tag and uncertainty around performance is currently keeping me from getting one. Another major concern is the fact that NVIDIA seems to have no plans to support OpenCL 2.0 which Intel and AMD have been supporting for years. Yeah, it is expensive. AMD is rumored to launch a new GP...

Re: RUNTIME ERROR: OpenCL device selection string has the wrong length, must be 3 instead of 2

I use a second machine for network rendering which has a different number of OpenCL devices than my main machine. This means I can't get it to work for OpenCL rendering without disabling on of the extra devices. Is there a way to get a functional workaround for this? As far as I remember, even if y...

Re: RUNTIME ERROR: OpenCL device selection string has the wrong length, must be 3 instead of 2

I know this problem has been up before. I did a debug and discovered what is listen below.d It count 2 devices. My NVIDIA card and my CPU. But I also have an Intel(R) HD Graphics 630 that is use for my screen (I have a gaming computer). How do I avoid including the Intel(R) HD Graphics 630 in the c...
