Re: RTX Performance in Lux

WOW! That is impressive. Although am I correct in understanding that these benchmarks are from Luxmark3.1 which runs the new version of Luxcorender that Reality does not currently support? I'm a bit unclear on which Luxcore version Luxmark 3.1 actually runs on, but even if it is a newer one, I woul...

Re: RTX Performance in Lux

I don't actually know about how it performs with Reality, but you're right about RTX cards and Luxmark: https://forums.luxcorerender.org/viewtopic.php?t=553&start=20 Unless there is some kind of driver-incompability with Reality, then the result should be stellar although pretty expensive.

Re: Just installed, lights not working

Make sure you do not have the light parented to the camera, since that would make it invisible. You could also try with an IBL instead of a mesh light. Most likely though, this is a Reality install problem. Since you have had earlier versions of Reality installed, I would try a uninstall followed by...

Re: Hair rendering...

RDNA is long gone, the saved tut from it has no images, and I'm having trouble with hair basics as I learn. Any chance that we can get that new tutorial? :) I'm afraid that is not going to happen anytime soon (if ever). Even without the pictures the information in the stored zip-file earlier in thi...

Re: Reality/Luxrender updates and/or status(?)

Is this the most recent update we have (from March)? Yes, that is the last update from Paolo The latest version of Luxrender 2.0 (reboot) is actually getting much better. The GUI interface is still a bit basic and the biggest downside is the missing ability to change light groups on the fly. Also L...

Re: Reality OpenCL vs CPU acceleration

Well, maybe NVIDIA is finally getting their act together on the driver side 8-) I hope you mean a resolution of 2056 x 1440 and not 20560 x 1440. Otherwise I'm even more impressed :D In the comparison on the CPU-version I was wondering, if you had the same setting for type/sampler for the CPU-versio...

Re: Reality 5 wishlist

Some models don't necessarly have materials set up correctly for Reality/Lux e.g., Cornea on Genesis 8 has a film over it to support reflection in Iray but it causes a white film over the eyes in Lux. Sometimes clothing and hair colors don't carry through to lux. Those can be manually addressed in ...

Re: Reality 4.3.1 makes DAZ3D crash

FYI - I figured out my issue. This laptop has integrated Intel Graphics and a discrete GTX 1060 GPU. I decided to install the latest intel graphics drivers even though the intel tools said I was up to date. After installation and reboot, Daz3d is working again. It was an intel issue and not an nvid...

Re: OpenCL rendering with Reality/LuxRender - results so far

Sounds like you tried a lot of things, so you're probably right. CPU-rendering is slow, but then it always was and it doesn't really bother me, as long as I get the results I want. It would be nice though, to be able to use the GPU speed for faster renderings and it will eventually happen. Just not ...
