Re: Soldier 2.0 for G3M

When i model, i do also include mesh lights. but then, i know how it should look like when i render. That makes sense because you're creating your own content. I recently bought a Modern Villa that comes with 12 mesh lights. I don't want the lights on if I'm rendering a daylight scene. Excellent jo...

Title: "Soldier 2.0 for G3M" Rendered: 9/06/16 Workflow: DAZ Studio 4.9, Reality 4, Photoshop CC Made With Aiden for Michael 6 Soldier 2.0 for Genesis 3 Male I've noticed an annoyingly growing trend with DAZ vendors, whereby they're including pre-configured mesh lights with the environment...

Re: Reality 4.2 LIsted as New Product on Renderosity

Sorry for the confusion. I double checked and noticed they're simply using the promotional image for the V7 preset to advertise both the Poser and DAZ editions of Reality 4.2. One line below that, there's an ad for the Upgrade to the Poser edition of Reality 4.2. https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/...

Reality 4.2 LIsted as New Product on Renderosity

Yesterday, Rendo was advertising Reality 4.2 as a new product. Today, they're advertising the automatic preset for V7 as a new product. Any idea what's up with that?

Lighting: Luxrender vs Iray

I just posted this on a message board I frequent, and decided to share it here as well. The person I was responding to was not aware that Reality can create mesh lights. Turning meshes into lights has been one of Reality's principle features, and main selling points, since its debut, in 2010. Howeve...

Re: Number of Threads in Lux

I just noticed something. When I render something with the Starter Scene that comes with Reality 4.2.1, Lux shows 24 threads. When I render something without the Starter Scene, using my own setup, Lux shows 8 threads.

What settings does the scene file have to make Lux show 24 threads?

Re: Materials: Satin

I've been watching the thread and thought I'd give Fram's satin recipe a whirl, myself. This is Esme wearing a MeriMay gown I bought from DAZ, last September. The design is a Double Dare mat pose they gave away during last year's Christmas bash. Per Fram's advice, I used standard 3-point lighting to...

Number of Threads in Lux

My PC is a home-built 3.5 GHz Core i7-4770K. In Lux's Render tab, next to the Pause and Stop buttons, it shows the number of threads. Sometimes it shows 8, sometimes 24. There doesn't appear to be any consistency with the number of threads it shows, so how does it decide, and what does it mean?

Re: The Light Emitter

I learned something new today. Thanks! I didn't like the laptop you linked to, so I bought my own from Renderosity for $8.00. Now I have a computer prop for office themes. :) I used the same Light Emission function in Reality's Modifiers tab to make the keyboard outline emit a blue glow, and add whi...
