"Thanks" button

Postby Fram1963 » Tue Mar 01, 2016 10:43 pm

Hi Paolo,

How about a 'Thanks' button? I find it useful to avoid cluttering of a thread that would end up with people replying with 'thanks' only --> making forums users think somebody posted a reply and having to check and realize that it's simply a 'thanks' post.

When a forum is very active, it can be time consuming.

Thanks!

I'll have to see if phpBB supports that.

Grazie! ;)

This may help Paolo, . They talk about various extensions that can be added, although it is more like a FB "Like" feature. I didn't have time to go through all the posts but what I did read looks like it points in the right direction depending on what version of phpBB your site is running.

For what it's worth, I own and administer a kart racing forum (vbulletin based) with around a hundred thousand pageviews daily, and have been running this forum since 1996.
For spam, I use the stopforumspam.com plugin for vbulletin. Another option is ZB Block, which is a script that connects to StopForumSpam.

You can stop nearly all of automated registering deals with your question and answer feature by making the question something like "Type poser in the box" then making poser the answer. This really confuses the spambots.

Hi.

I have added the QA plugin yesterday. Let's see how it goes. Thank you for the suggestions.
