You will have to edit the file again as Reality overwrites the previous file with a fresh one. What I have done is just copied that section from "Renderer" to the closed square bracket "]" into a blank text file. Then I just past it over what Reality generates, i use Notepad +++ as my text editor (have done for years) as that has tabs for multiple files & they stay open even when you close the program, unless you close the files also obviously.

Windows 10 x64, Daz Studio 4.9 x64, Poser Pro 11 & whatever the current version of Reality is :lol:

Thanks Fuzzy70, that's what I thought but wanted to verify. :)

I have a scene that I let render over night only to find I had something I need to modify in the scene. Will I need to export the the .lxs file again and change the light strategy, or will it keep the change since I'm not re naming the file?

As Fuzzy70 said, copy and paste every time you restart.
this would be funny if it weren't happening to me :shock:

For some reason I can't get it to work, as soon as I add the line in I get the following

Below is a screen cap of my lxs file

It looks like you are using a wrong quotation mark (") in the file.
Use this one for copying:

"lightstrategy.type = <strategy>"

I thought that it might be the case but wasn't sure, I think I might have found why it was happening - my text editor defaults to using smart quotes which means as soon as you put a set of quotation marks in it would auto change them to speech marks.

Copying and pasting the line worked a treat.

Thanks again for you help.

This is awesome. I think that Reality needs a "Light Strategy" tab. :)

Yes, and Paolo has hinted that it might be in next version.

Excellent information Sigstan, thank you very much. (Mayhaps Paolo will give us this option in future Reality versions?)
