Error accessing OpenCL

Postby nereus541 » Fri Apr 07, 2017 7:45 am

Windows 10, i5-4590 quad-core, Nvidia GTX 760
DAZ Studio 4.9.3.166 (64 Bit)
Reality plugin 4.3.1.16203
LuxRender 1.6.0 Build 16132

Any attempt to run OpenCL results in:
RUNTIME ERROR: OpenCL device selection string has the wrong length, must be 3 instead of 2
being reported by LuxRender

Basically Luxrender is seeing one more OpenCL device than Reality. There is a rather long thread about this issue here: http://preta3d.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=674.
The short story is that there is no ideal solution to the problem. Usually it is caused by an internal GPU.
If you have one and don't use it, then just disable it. If you don't want to do this, then you are currently stuck with manual edits of the Luxrender scene file.
