Beams

Postby Marcel2586 » Sat Jul 09, 2016 10:29 am

I have made 2 Beams for you all to use.
One Beam with a mesh light at the top and one without light.
On how to set up the volume for this to work, look here.

Here the two beam obj.

To use use it, Import it as obj and scale it to your liking.
You can set the values of the mesh light at your liking.
I have followed Sigstan advice and the mesh light is only 1 polygon
For the best result i advise to read this (thank you Sigstan, for your tutorial).

It helps tremendous with rendering.

Marcel2586, thanks for sharing.

I have to ask: why can we observe a soft shadow on the floor?
I would expect they to be a more illuminated region instead.

Thank you and about the question, i have no idea why.
It could be the fog is doing this. As the tube is hollow and the end of the tube is below the ground plane.

If we did not shared our knowledge, we would still be living in a cave!
