LuxRender Aborts Loading Scene

Postby sensei3dseeker » Sun Apr 16, 2017 11:21 am

After finally resolving problem of updating Reality update in the MAC OS Sierra system I was ready to render the scene. Reality opened and when Render Frame was clicked; LuxRender window opens. The Activity "window" says loading scene but then it aborts. Checking the log tab; there is an error message:
[2017-04-16 08:03:57 Severe error: 2] RUNTIME ERROR: LuxCoreRenderer can not render an empty scene

All tabs in Reality shows that the scene is there, materials, lights, etc.

What does this error mean? And how to fix?

thanks,

Hi
This forum category is just about DAZ studio, so for your issue you should post it in the Troubleshooting section for Reality DS here:
viewforum.php?f=28

Please read the sticky in that section about what information to provide.

That said "empty scene" means Luxrender did not receive anything to render. If you switch to "information" (Reality->Render->Renderer->Log Detail Level) then you might be able to see, if any thing is read at all. I suspect not.

Always try out CPU no acceleration or CPU accelerated version first, since these modes have less things that can go wrong. Try a simple scene first. Like a camera, an IBL or simple mesh light and and a primitive like a sphere or cube. That should verify basic functionality.

But as suggested log the issue in the Troubleshooting section with some more info.

sigstan,

Thanks for the reply and hints. But did a quick test with no cpu acceleration and there is a problem. Will post on troubleshooting section with more details.

thanks again,
