Poser is going up in version number.

But before it does that, it's moving over to Renderosity under the brand name of Bondware. One picky issue is on startup in Poser, it pops up a warning notification :

An errror occurred importing addon Reality :
ERROR: need more than 1 value to unpack

They said that the responsibility falls on the creator of the plugin and not on Poser. Installation and re-installation don't solve the problem. I would like to continue to use Reality with the next version of Poser. Poser 11.2

I tried to re-install Reality 4.3 in Poser Pro 11.2.272

When I start Poser, I get this message:

An errror occurred importing addon Reality : ERROR: need more than 3 values to unpack

An errror occurred importing addon Reality : ERROR: need more than 3 values to unpack

The Reality option does not appear in the Render dropdown menu.
Seems to be a python script thing; everything worked fine in Poser 11 Standard (latest version) before the upgrade to Poser Pro.

Is there anything I can do to fix the problem?
Should Bondware fix it?
Is an update of Reality necessary?

I am also getting this issue. I also just tried copying the script folder over from PoserPro2014 rather than reinstall. I get that same message about more than 3 values required when I startup PoserPro 11.

Renderosity forums refer to the version number is now 3 elements, no longer 4. There was also an issue with an embedded space, which they say is resolved in a beta version available behind the serial number verification screen. I'm just running the non-beta release.

A link to the forum here:

This is what I get in the python shell screen:

Code: Select all

Welcome to the Poser Python shell.
Python 2.7.1 (r271:86832, Sep 14 2019, 05:33:22) [MSC v.1800 64 bit (AMD64)] on win32
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
poser.AppVersion()
u'11.2 .276'

There's a thread about it at Renderosity. Snarlygribbly is working at a fix, adjusting the way python starts up.
I'm beta-testing it and I got Reality running again from Poser 11.2.
The script fixes problems with several older Python-based plug ins.

If nothing goes wrong the fix should be available in a few days.
From the forum link here it will probably be part of the next Poser build, but the current build can be fixed easiily with Snarly's patch.

That Snarlygribbly fix works for me too.

The fix (for Poser Pro 11.2 rather than Reality) can be found here:

With many thanks to Snarlygribbly.

Now here's one more trouble to shoot.

Where is Paolo?
