Reality is now Open Source Software

Oh, wow. I just checked in, as I do every other month or so, to see if there was any news.. Oh. Wow. I've been thinkning for a few years now that the only way forward probably was if Reality were to be open sourced, but to see it actually happen.. Wow. Thank you, Paolo, for your generosity in letting your software fly free!

And thank you for all the fun I've already had with Reality! From that first post of a water render in the DS forum, to today, Reality/LuxRender has been my first and really only love in PBR software (warts and all..)


But has anyone actually been able reach the code? Bitbucket just gives me an error ("We can't let you see this page
To access this page, you may need to log in with another account.") when I try to reach https://bitbucket.org/realityplugin/reality (while https://bitbucket.org/realityplugin/reality-libs/ works fine). Some permissions issue?

You are very welcome. Thank you for reminding me of those days, it was a lot of fun.

I had to make the repository private again because I found out that all my past revisions are still there and that includes some private data that I don't want to have in public. I'll clean up the data during the holidays and make the repo public again.

I'm moving the source to Sourceaforge because BitBucket is moving everything to Git and I use Mercurial. I'll see if I can make it happen this weekend.

I want to put the project under a proper version control system so that people can manage it easily.

If there are issues on accessing it, please let me know and I will take care of them.
