Problems with Sync and Specular

I've caught a few glitches with sync in the specular textures. 1. When using the system designed by Banditcameraman (Texture Combine using two maps with different color settings), sync doesn't load the maps to Texture 1 for Ears, Face, and Lips. It only loads Lips (the bottom one). Ears and Face hav...

Re: RDNA Reality Forum

That's the first I've heard of that site. Oh, Paolo. You shouldn't have mentioned it. I'll be busy the rest of the day.

Most of us don't touch it, unless we're creating a vampire (blue) or alien (green) and those lead to ...

Re: How to make Skin Look Softer

That's a complex question, and the answer is equally complex. There is a variety of factors in play: qualify of the maps, specular settings (usually a major factor), top coat, glossiness, metalicity, and bumps/normals. What generation are you using? Each has its own strengths and foibles and the set...

Note About Book Covers

I don't know how many of you are planning to make book covers for paperbacks printed by CreateSpace/Amazon, but here's something to keep in mind. CreateSpace uses RBG to print covers, instead of CMYK (cyan-magenta-yellow-black). The result is the cover is overprinted and extremely dark. The cover of...

My First Book Cover

If you can't afford to hire someone to paint the cover to your book, and you know something about 3D art, you make it yourself. Here is the cover to my first book, A Path of Stones , courtesy of DAZ Studio, Reality, and Luxrender. http://www.nboutwell.com/Tutorials/PathCoverSm.jpg A few things I lea...
