I don't know how many of you are planning to make book covers for paperbacks printed by CreateSpace/Amazon, but here's something to keep in mind.
CreateSpace uses RBG to print covers, instead of CMYK (cyan-magenta-yellow-black). The result is the cover is overprinted and extremely dark.
The cover of my proof is 40% darker than this original image: . That will not work.
The easy way to correct this is to increase the brightness-contrast of the image in Photoshop or GIMP by at least 35%. The optimal way is to increase the light and/or adjust the camera settings at the end of your render. The image should be much brighter than you'd expect for an artistic render, but not overexposed. There is no set standardized guide to this. It's all hit and miss, and you may have to try it and proof it several times before it looks right.

Note About Book Covers
Sometimes, my wife wakes up grumpy. Sometimes, she lets me sleep.

Interesting information.
What about conversion services like: ?
But yes I would imagine it to be a bit tricky.
