Looking for help

Postby Kimberly58 » Sat Dec 10, 2016 7:14 pm

I am rendering a scene in Reality/Lux but there is something weird happening.

This is what the window looks like when Rendering in Lux

This is what it looks like when rendering in Studio

I can't figure our why there is a while section going through the window when I render with Lux? Has this happened to anyone? If so is there an easy way to fix this?

Product I used is
Collective3d's Create a Room Base Set from Studio http://www.daz3d.com/collective3d-creat ... m-base-set

Kimberly, do you have a 3D program like blender or Lightwave?
this would be funny if it weren't happening to me

This is bad use of boolean, turn the glass in a 3d program to triangles and it is gone. Sigstan, Fram1963 or Fussy explained this to me,I can not remember exactly who! But i think Fram.

I'm not sure what you mean turn them to triangles. How do you do that?

Better to turn every part of the wall to triangular.
You have to recalculate the meshes (square) in a 3D program like Blender into triangles, there is a option for that.

Eek Ok.. way out of my comfort zone. Will have to see if I can figure it out. I've only looked at blender never really used it.

Thanks for the quick response. :)

That option turns 1 square into 4 triangles and it solves the boolean error that you see.

And the answer to the question in the picture is 12.

That looks like a structural version of what happens with clothes if the mesh smoothing is turned up too high. The geometry gets all out of whack. It happens from time to time with certain sets. Sounds like Marcel is on top of things.
