Picture this scenario. You started your wonderful render at high resolution. Everything looks great. After a couple of hours you check the progress and realize that you forgot to check the “Alpha Channel” option. The default sky from Lux shows in your image. Obviously you mentally kick yourself and reach for the “Quit” option in Lux. Hold that mouse! You don’t need to waste hours of rendering.
Instead watch the following video tutorial and see how you can have perfect sky replacement in minutes without losing hours of precious time. You’re welcome 🙂
Watch it on YouTube for the HD version.
Your videos are wonderful!
I am very interested in getting Reality but I have to look further into the system requirements.
I have an older windows system @ 32bit and the renderings may take too long.
These are the kind of results I would like to get though.
Great job and cheers!
@flashblitzen
Thank you!
I have 32 bit also.
I bought 2 older computers and made a very simple render farm with debian linux and luxrender for unix. This speeds up rendering. What used to take all night, now only takes 2-3 hours. if I get more machines, I can cut the time exponentially!
All you need to do is run “./luxconsole -s” on the slave machines, and then enter in the IP addresses of the slave machines in your main machines luxrender. it’s almost automatic. Wait till you get around 2000 samples, and start shutting them down. It’s incredible.
I use Reality almost every day. I only wish I had it years ago. It didn’t take me too long to learn either. Fantastic tutorials!
